NCBS is accepting applications from students in doctoral degree programs in Black Studies to attend the 33rd Annual NCBS Conference scheduled for March 19-21, 2009, in Atlanta, GA at the Renaissance Atlanta Hotel, Downtown. The travel grants are made possible through the generosity of the Ford Foundation.
Applications should include:
· Cover letter stating your institutional affiliation and how the travel grant will further your professional development
· a letter of recommendation
· official transcript
· curriculum vita
· an abstract of Paper Presentation for the NCBS Annual Conference
Applications will be judged on :
- Clarity of Ideas
- Significance of Research Topic
- Potential for Substantive Presentation

Requirements: To receive the travel grant, applicants agree to
- Attend the Professional Workshop Program on Publishing Papers at the NCBS Conference
- Complete the assessment instrument for the Professional Workshop
- Submit an electronic copy of the paper presented at the NCBS Conference
